Discipline: the counts, and where this site stops
IDFPR publishes every disciplinary action with its reason. This page explains what those records contain, and why no page here attaches one to a name.

⚠️ Why a suspension often says nothing about competence
Illinois uses professional licences as an enforcement lever for debts that have nothing to do with the profession. Across IDFPR's full disciplinary file, the most frequent reasons are:
- failure to file or pay Illinois state income taxes;
- criminal conviction history, or failure to disclose it;
- being more than 30 days delinquent in child support;
- defaulting on an Illinois Student Assistance loan.
A nurse suspended for child support arrears is not a dangerous nurse. The record is public, and it is right that it is — but reading it as a judgement on someone's work would be wrong.
Where this site draws the line, and why
IDFPR publishes all of this behind a search tool: you arrive with a name in your hand and look that person up. Turning it into indexable pages would not be republishing the source — it would build something the source does not have: a search engine for debts, arrears and convictions, sorted by people's names and findable by anyone who was not looking for them.
So, on this site:
- No page names a person alongside a sanction. The tables on the profession and county pages have no discipline column at all.
- No page lists “the disciplined of X”. That is a pillory, not a register.
- The counts are published — on every profession, county and board page — because a rate is a fact about the system, not about a person.
- The detail appears on an individual entry, quoted from
IDFPR without addition. That entry is rendered in your browser from the part of
the address after the
#: it has no URL, and no search engine can reach it.
This costs the site its most clickable pages. That is the point.
